Top Russian Official: Alaska Takeover Could Be Next | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 83035701 United States 07/06/2022 05:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | China.... They have less than a chance to deploy to anywhere than Russia. They may have a 200,000,000 man fighting force, but they have no way to deploy that force. At best they are a regional military power with high tech weaponry. But the reality is much worse. They are economically bankrupted and could even afford to fight a regional war. Their manufacturing base has all but collapsed, along with their social unrest due to lock-downs on their population. Naa.. China is only going to fighting in their backyard not coming to Alaska to loose 200,000 men in the frozen tundra. Youre tarded, all the things you describe are exactly why they would attack. They are desperate and they will eventually be forced to go to war a they are out of options. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76766798 United States 07/06/2022 05:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They could definitely militarily conquer Alaska. But the guerilla warfare against the occupation troops would be brutal. Ukraine is 1.7X bigger than Germany. Trained by NATO for 8 years! 2 unofficial nato bases. Ukraine was seeded with anti armor/anti air weapons. Ukraine's military outnumbered the Russians 3 to 1 plus Ukraine had 7,000 foreign mercs, many were ex military or nato special forces operating unofficially. Well over 50 billion poured into Ukraine plus advisers, and military gear. Ukraine has been supplied LIVE intel and benefits from nato electronic warfare jamming coming out of Poland/Romania. NATO relies on air superiority. In warfare against an opponent like Russia/China/Iran, that does NOT work. Air frames flying fast at tree top level is what works. So out goes the F35. Russia has achieved their goal of securing the Luhansk region and practically owns the Donbass. All they need is to link up to Transnistra and they're done. Russia controls what amounts to half the territory of Italy! They've cycled their military through Ukraine to give them peer-to-peer war training. They've fine tuned the playbook on how to fight nato and win even with a third-tier group. Russia has saved their new tech and their first-string players for nato. Think about the implications of this. Very alarming. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83791255 United States 07/06/2022 05:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is democracy vs autocracy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58363689 It used to be capitalism vs communism but that was just a cover for what is really happening in the world since communism was never actually implemented anywhere or least the version of communism that Karl Marx wrote about. It was used as a cover for democracy vs autocracy. By artificially tying communism with autocracy, people learned over time that communism is bad... but communism and democracy can work together. It really is democracy vs autocracy. Democracy of people who want to go out to vote so they have a say in how a country is run.... and Autocracy - people who would prefer not to go out and vote and let their government make decisions for them. The Constitution of United States of America prescribes the form of government to be a representative Republic, not a democracy. |

You can't even hold ground against a rent-a-army in Ukraine and you think you're going to fly, float over to Alaska and do what? The logistics of a land war in Alaska is laughable. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83782613 And their supply lines would be ungodly long. I don't see it happening. We have a huge amount of military sh*t in Alaska. Short of nuking the cities of Juneau, Fairbanks and Anchorage, the Russians wouldn't get very far. Besides, if they invaded, Alaskans would make short work of them. Besides opening a war on another front. what would Russia use for men and material? justavet In the end, our regrets are for what we didn't do, not for what we did. |

I know it's hard for America to believe but Putin is actually the peaceful one over there... God help us if we take him out and end up with an actual extremist. That's when nuclear war actually becomes possible... My sister called yesterday, her husband was talking to a childhood friend from Siberia, he is a military man in the army, he says that the whole army is in shock, only half of the officers support the special operation in Ukraine. The other half offers to fuck around Washington. russian joke |
