What is does do though is sure up the economy and give a stable platform for ordinary people. The money becomes stable so things settle down the price of staples don't go up every hour. It is just a beginning but it is putting them on the right track.

The article doesn’t say Zimbabwe is pegging it’s currency to gold, just that the central bank will mint its own one ounce gold coin and sell it for local and foreign currency. Zimbabwe mostly uses the US dollar.

It isn't pegging it is replacing. It isn't really possible to peg a fiat currency to gold effectively.
They are breaking away from the international banking system and this is a first step.

Remember that the US has been minting silver coins while the dollar remained the currency.

This is what will be interesting to see. Will the central bankers come down hard on them or is it a sign that the old fiat systems are irreparably damaged and the new order led y BRICS is going to create the new gold baked system and destroy the Davos crowds power for good.
Also interesting to watch nearby Uganda and their newly discovered vast deposits of gold, together with Uganda's untapped reserves it is in the tens of trillions of dollars range.

I'm still trying to understand how all this will play out.

Last week the Fed announced a "soft landing" strategy to steady the economy so there is no world panic and more inflation and devaluation.

They will accomplish this by converting paper contracts to physical, however, there is still close to a trillion out in paper contracts.

Already Crypto took a hit, looks like 50% decrease in value. While gold is steady.

US Dollar, Euro, and Swiss Franc are all about the same exact price. That would make them the world base currencies. However that doesn't account to the debt applies to each.

BRICS, SCO meeting to coordinate, and US is quiet.

China Belt contributed to the Evergreen Suez Canal disaster. Then China built a port on the Ivory Coast to bypass the terrorists.

The article suggests that China has already conquered Africa. And there's alot of projection in that. China has set up ports and stations but the real conquerors are those slaughtering Christians across the continent. China is just waiting in the wings at this point.

One of the reasons is that China doesn't have a Navy. Their Navy is in its infancy and not skilled to face the other competitors in the region, namely OPEC who has US military backing... for now.

As the US pulls out of that role, happening fast, China is forced to remain in the opportunistic position. Moving forward this opens the door for greater diplomacy.

With 2030 being the goal posts, there will be lots of action in the next 7 years. Setting the Gold Standard is crucial and the ground is ripe for this to go into effect. However, there will be big losers like Zimbabwe. First on the chopping block.

If all fiat West currencies do this all together, all bonds, mortgages, auto, credit card, student loan, ALL go to 0....why would that not work?
