Does that make us any less real? Even when the dreamer wakes..he remembers the dream. So is it dead or non existent? When something is thought of..does it ever leave existence at that point? It’s always something...even if just a memory or dream.

I think record is important at that point, memory seems
very stable but it is not a proof.

I put "delusion" in quotes because it really depends on if you felt anything as to whether or not it's a delusion doesn't it?

I think you hit the nail on the head there. The entire approach is BS and leads nowhere.

Yes, but math can be illusory. If you take the wrong approach in math to describe physics, simple things can look exceedingly complex. If you then don't realize you're barking up the wrong tree, you can think the underlying reality is that complex, when it's just your flawed approach that makes it look that way.

I'll make a simple example to show what I mean.

Here's an infinite series:

1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 + ...

This infinite series actually sums up to

1

Now imagine that you have built a mathematical structure where you represent things with infinite series, instead of plain old integers. Then you do complex arithmetic with it. It's gonna look pretty impressive in its complexity. But it's just an illusion, you're really just adding integers with all your hard work.

I strongly suspect a similar thing has happened with physics.

First, the idea is that particles interact by exchanging other particles. But to make this idea fit observations, the particles must have a cloud of "virtual particles" around them.

The math they use says that every particle causes a weak virtual particle to exist, which in turn forces an even weaker virtual particle to appear, and so on.

Sounds a whole lot like an infinite series to me.

When you start peeling away the layers of this kind of mathematical onion, all you will find, is more layers. Turtles all the way down. To see the actual simplicity of it, you need to step out of your current mindset and find a different approach.
