Canker sore that won't heal. It's been over a year now. Supplements that used to heal them haven't done anything. Why?

My husband always has an ulcer on his tongue where his sharp tooth rubs against it. I put iodine on his tongue, and ortho wax to cover the sharp part of his tooth. It works sometimes, and others, not so great.
Thanks for the lysine tip, we’ll add that.
