City of McAllen, TX and HEB grocery store has a water drive ongoing now to send water to Monterrey Well here is one for the books. Today I went to my HEB to get distilled water. I use about 8 gallons a week....even the dog drinks it. I make coffee with it and drink it and the hummingbirds need it for their juice. It is normal for my consumption. I went to the water area spied the distilled water and proceeded to load up the 8 gallons into my cart. I had a couple of other items too. I proceeded to go to check out....when management came over to my cart and said I could only have two gallons and there was a sign up back there. Well, honestly I didn't see any sign. I wasn't clued in to look for a sign. All I saw was the water I went after. To make a long story short. The limit for gallon jugs was two. So management removed 6 gallons out of my cart. I won't tell you how I really felt. That really happened today around noon/1 p.m. ish. |

City of McAllen, TX and HEB grocery store has a water drive ongoing now to send water to Monterrey I lived in the RGV for 14 years and still have some family down there. From April to October it's hot as balls with high temps in the mid 90's at least and the lows in the upper 70's. There is always a breeze from the Gulf, but it's like a hair dryer. The closer to the Gulf ( Weslaco to SPI ) you'll get a chance at a sea breeze shower. The only rain we got in our elongated summer was from tropical waves that come though. Maverick31 |

Quoting: Maverick31 Yes....but now its just hotter with high temps in the 100's There are only two seasons here..... summer, summer, summer and fall. and summer is the time when hot water comes out of both faucets. |

San Pedro zone - The "Dallas" of Monterrey- have water service most of the day. Thanks for sending water bottles from Texas though |

City of McAllen, TX and HEB grocery store has a water drive ongoing now to send water to Monterrey There is something weird here though. Quoting: 26Degrees I just heard again on the local radio where they are begging for water donations to send to Monterrey..........but there is no water at Sam's and I don't know but would imagine there is none at Costco either. And then at the grocery stores they have purchase limits....so that begs the question of how are you going to buy water to donate? I think people here are oblivious to what is happening in Monterrey and what it means.. They are focused on celebrating July 4th and cooking out. I asked the guy at Sam's Club when did they expect more water to arrive and he said maybe in a couple of days. Uhuh. I'm in El Paso, so Honest Question - Why is it McAllen's problem? Is Monterrey a Sister city? We help our Juarez all time as well but Shouldn't the Mexican Govt get on top of this??? Donations will not help Millions.... That is an excellent question. That is an interesting observation. Yes,,,, I agree that maybe things are not what they appear to be. Like maybe that water is for the millions crashing the border or maybe there is some kind of secret hoarding going on. I'm sure we won't ever find out. Well, in this situation people cannot even do what is being told to them. You are so right....a couple of truck loads of donated water won't make a dent in this massive bad situation. One of the articles I read said there are 5.3 million people in Monterrey. This has to also be a situation for Reynosa I am thinking. Leaving out of McAllen one drives thru Reynosa first and then on to Monterrey. Monterrey I think is about a three hour drive. Correct me if I a wrong. Stranger things. I pretty sure this stuff that we are seeing is biblical and its not just texas, Its happening from Texas all the way north to Washington state. And I fear this is only the beginning |
