Take Joel Osteen for example....... he recently had a message for his followers about visualizing and affirming what you want.
Quoting: Satyarevelations 1) Ask, and it shall be given to you. 2) Seek, and you shall find. 3) Knock, and the door will be opened to you. All these statements, from Christ himself, require both visualization and affirmation on the part of the supplicant. Scripture is not supporting your complaint. The Meridian already addressed this. Jesus was not talking about material desires...... he was so far from materialism as hell is from heaven. Think about it.
