We are about to see a MAJOR slowdown/shutdown this fall and everyone will feel it. These track builders are going to be at an over surplus and will call a timeout in starts. This will cut all the trades out of 75-80% of work. Think about it… lumber suppliers, door and window manufacturers, hvac, plumbing, electrical all the components… it’s billions of parts and millions of laborers. BE READY and put your Faith in Jesus the Author & Protector of it all. Biblical Times 🙏 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58131257 You just went through a major upturn, because all the sheeple have to have new houses at once, and driving up home, and building supplies, prices. Now, here comes good Ole reality, construction activity will plummet and so will real estate values. Many of these new home buyers will soon find themselves getting deeper and deeper under water on their home "investments" purchased at the market top. Then, the banksters will have problems again. Same Ole. |

When they call a time-out, it’s over… and that’s about to happen. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58131257 There are bigger problems than just housing. In the past few weeks both Steve Forbes and Martin Armstrong have spoken of an economic collapse ahead. It could imminent or could be another year or so.... |

That is not construction... I'm building multi-tenant high rise residential complexes all throughout the Northeast.. The commercial side of construction is going just fine. Sounds like you work for a shitty GC. Now if you want to complain about the level of laziness I am finding in the construction industry, then that is a conversation... But nothing is slowing down in the world I am in. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80032697 United States 06/29/2022 08:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I chatted with a lumber salesman this week, his largest customer, a large home builder in TX cut their housing starts in half. He said they are busy for now, but the Fall will be the true test. There will be enough financial pressure on folks (mainly interest rates) where their buying power will diminish and buying will slow down, which will drive prices of homes down. All out collapse, don’t know. I’m seeing more ARM loans, which makes me a bit uneasy, reminds me of the mortgage doom we had back in the mid 2000s, sub-prime lending, here we go again. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80788445 Lumber has already fallen significantly, let it plummet! It will finally be easy to find contractors! Yes and not. Finding good contractors is always difficult Home depot charges $55 for gallon of paint , Good contractor charges +-$1k per day + $0.5k each worker ,materials and +25% profit as of june 2022 |

When a tradesman and his work slow down, then tools start to get dumped and fast. I'm talking drills, chop saws, nailing/framing hammers, etc. I was at our local pawn shop yesterday and have never seen so many cordless drills: DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, there were 2 rows three high of just cordless drills! |
