I'm not standing up for our current leadership, but things like nutrition, lifestyle, ambition and routine play a huge role in determining if we get to reach the top and still be able to perform at the top. Maybe not past 80s, but certainly 70-80 that have skills can live their best and most lucrative life. I've met more than enough old people still busting their asses and loving life. And not just leadership or office folk: landscapers and builders doing the complex stuff, yet still sweating in the sun, restaurant managers and chefs, farmers.

I think our minds are conditioned that we'll degrade and begin shitting ourselves at a certain age. Maybe we should focus on living instead.

Honestly I don't think they are running the country they are the voice the people we get to see. The real ones running everything we don't get to see them.

My grandma is 92 and lives in a huge house by herself. Constantly find her outside weed eating. She doesn't have live in care, maids etc. Does all her own bills and such.

Biden is not capable of riding a bike but there are people well into their 90s that still wake up everyday and kick ass.

I think it's because there are no term limits and once they are in, they are in. Then they are allowed to get very rich with insider trading, influencing lobbyist, corruption, etc. They would never give up their position willingly.

You are correct. People that complain about lack of opportunity suffer from lack of work ethic and lack of imagination. My last decade before retirement (6 years back) in the skilled trades, we could not fill open positions with young newbies. We tried but about 50% washed out right away when they discovered that trades wake up between 4 and 530am. Then the rest would wash out after a few days or so when they found out about the actual work effort needed. And dont get me started on their phone habits while on someone elses dime. And then they go home jump on glp and condemn boomers. Good luck younger generations. You have to bust your ass in this world whether fitting pipe, typing letters or fight off the upcoming chinese horde that wants to farm our lands (another occupation that is lost on the young}

Old folks aren't in the way and can't really be in the way. The filter is the most effective and gracious to play the part.

The DEFLECTION of this argument is that they (70-80) are "well enough" to do the job. But what needs to be pointed out is that someone in their PRIME years (35-45) could be better at it.

Term limits are a MUST.

In a sane and non-corrupt society leadership would be by adults in their prime years being advised and counseled by elderly. But by no means should they be in charge or have the power to make choices for millions.

Yeah.... old people are so helpless. I am 64. I run Linux on my computers. I can plumb and wire houses. I remodelled my basement last year. I can teardown and fix every appliance in my house. I have xrayed airplanes, done hvac and worked in a lab. I work 32 hours a week and I can't believe how weak and helpless you youngsters are. In 6 years I will probably be totally incompetent and shitting myself.
