I looked after 7 Vets in Florida with my companion, 13 hours a day, 7 days a week. I did 3 adult diapers. 1 guy with down's syndrome, 1 with dementia, 3 schizophrenics and 1 retarded guy. We never mistreated them but we were under huge pressure. The owner didn't care about them.

I remember one day going to the VA with Mark who was schizophrenic. He would repeat himself all day everyday. He kept pacing as we waited for the psychiatrist and he kept repeating the same stuff to me. A lady was waiting in the waiting room with others and she said "Are you looking after him?". I said "yes". She said "Bless your heart". Mark was a lot of work. Thing is, she didn't realize we have 5 others we looked after 13 hours a day, 7 days a week

Caregivers are usually stressed out to the maximum so I'm not surprised. I never mistreated them at all.

It seems like more would be done to screen and monitor those entrusted with working with children, the disabled and elderly people. We have public cams for traffic but not to watch out for loved ones and community members?

Yeah, if you can't handle the stress you don't need to work in jobs that require patience and understanding.
