I played a planefag on full chan and have the badges. 1. “You can’t fire a cannon, from a canoe!” 2. “Strength is gained in the range it is trained.” 3. “If it doesn’t swim, run, or fly, or isn’t green and grow in the ground, don’t eat it.” 4. “Know that you have complete control over what you put in your mouth. No one ever ate anything by accident.” |

A pilot or a crewman could be ill, the gear might not be working properly, there's a warning light on, etc. These planes are like 70-80 years old aren't they? THis is hardly a conspiracy. Let me tell you guys this. The plane watching on the apps is cool and all, but you are only seeing a small fraction of the B52 flights, or any of the military flights for that fact. If they are up to something that they don't want you to know about it, you will not know about it's movements unless you are in an air traffic control facility or have access to secure sensitive military networks. |

User ID: 58851912 United States 06/22/2022 04:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Had a B52 flyover my area in East Asheville, NC yesterday. It was the sound that tipped me off first, then I saw it. It was heading due south at perpendicular vector to the normal commercial jet flight path. Ballpark altitude around 10,000 feet as it passed half way between the ground and commercial jet at around 20,000' that was on its way up to cruising altitude from the airport. I used to see B52's in the NC mountains more back in the cold war era. Pilots say that they come up from the air bases along the NC coast to practice low level bombing runs in Appalachian chain, which evidently has a similar topography to the mountain ranges in Russia. Let's Go Brandon reheated the cold war that Regan had put soundly to bed. There's every reason to believe that Biden will start WWIII. Anonymous Coward User ID: 80963423 Australia 06/22/2022 05:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | WC-135 Constant Phoenix Mission The WC-135W Constant Phoenix atmospheric collection aircraft supports national level consumers by collecting particulate and gaseous effluents and debris from accessible regions of the atmosphere in support of the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty of 1963. Features The aircraft is a modified C-135B or EC-135C platform. The Constant Phoenix's modifications are primarily related to its on-board atmospheric collection suite, which allows the mission crew to detect radioactive "clouds" in real time. The aircraft is equipped with external flow-through devices to collect particulates on filter paper and a compressor system for whole air samples collected in holding spheres. The cockpit crew is from the 45th Reconnaissance Squadron at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., and special equipment operators are assigned to Det. 1, Air Force Technical Applications Center at Offutt AFB. Background General Dwight D. Eisenhower commissioned the Constant Phoenix program on Sept. 16, 1947, when he charged the Army Air Forces with the overall responsibility for detecting atomic explosions anywhere in the world. In September 1949, a WB-29 flying between Alaska and Japan detected nuclear debris from Russia's first atomic test--an event thought not possible until mid-1950. Beginning in August 1950, WB-50 aircraft were converted for the air-sampling mission over a two-year period. WC-135 aircraft began replacing the WB-50s in December 1965 and became the workhorse of the atmospheric collection program. Air sampling missions were routinely conducted over the Far East, Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal, Mediterranean Sea, the Polar regions, and off the coasts of South America and Africa. The WC-135W played a major role in tracking radioactive debris from the Soviet Union's Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster. Currently the air-sampling mission supports the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty of 1963, which prohibits any nation from above ground nuclear weapons testing. WC-135s are currently the only aircraft in the inventory conducting air-sampling operations. |
