Having a glass of my own, made from grape juice, yeast and sugar. Didn't use anything fancy at all. Nice kick after 10 days!

I just go very simple. It works fine with no issues. I usually make them in batches, and follow this ol man's recipe...

I don't think beer 8s quite as simple, though. I love amber beer, but wondering about the cost, especially when wine is so easy and cheap.

Mead is another option. Takes a long time, but I bet it's worth it.

I have made wine and beer.

Once I was gifted 50 lbs. of honey which I made into mead. Delicious.

However, I found out later that there may be a risk of botulism with mead.

True story: my wife is from a tropical country. She started putting Moringa leaves in my eggs every day.

I asked her if it was healthy.

"Oh yes! My grandpa put Moringa leaves in his pineapple wine that he drank every day".

I asked, "Well, was he healthy?"

She replied, "He was 109 years old, got drunk, and fell off his horse. That is what finally killed him".

Look up a ginger beer recipe. Also add a pineapple.

Look for gatherings of your local homebrewing club and local homebrew supply shop.

Ha! Well, Botulism sounds no bueno. But the enjoyment might just outweigh the risk.

For beer there will will be a significant cost for equipment. Kettles, fermenter, kegs, co2. etc. Do all grain it's much better. I used to brew 20 gallon batches at a time, which cost me ~70$ for all the ingredients. Works out to aboot ~0.88 cents per pint when all said and done. Now I do side hustle work at a brewery as the stage manager and sound engineer for the music there. Drinks for free all the time that way!

That was a nice easy recipe with no special equipment. I have 5 mango trees and I wanted to try to make mango wine next summer.
