Not trying to be morbid, but I'm curious if anyone has been feeling their mortality lately.

Re: Not trying to be morbid, but I'm curious if anyone has been feeling their mortality lately.
recently read this from a "close encounter" retelling:

the alien said: Humans don't realize the most important day of their life is their death (cuz it don't stop!)

let's celebrate death, rather than cry about what we will miss, and let's learn what we can to prepare for a smooth "bigday"!

They told my brother he had six months to live (he had advanced throat cancer).

He totally beat it with treatment!

Good luck to you.

Have a friend who had a month to live with a incurable cancer, a year and a half later he’s better than ever. Have another friend who had intestinal cancer, they gave her months to live. She completely walked away from all medical treatment and excepted this as her fate... that was about 10 years ago, she’s still alive and kicking.
 Quoting: The Juan Mower

Awesome! And I hope anybody reading this takes comfort in the fact that you can beat this stuff. At the same time, it's ok if you don't...like I said....we aren't "allowed" to truly "die". So the beat goes on and on...

So sad... :(

Wish I could make RS-oil for people who need it :(

Wouldn't cost much, either.

But nope, that brings conviction & prison.

I feel hopeless lately, and while I'm not someone who could commit suicide I just wish the end would come. I will likely be homeless one day or at least carless.

It seems like as people get older, they think about it more.

Re: Not trying to be morbid, but I'm curious if anyone has been feeling their mortality lately.
I've found lately that my mind and conversations have been increasingly on the topic of death.

I'll be going about my day and these thoughts sneak up on me. I don't feel terribly depressed or defeated. I just feel it's close.

For some reason, when I have that thought, it doesn't really worry me. I identify it, acknowledge it, and carry on. It goes away and comes back and so on.

I certainly am in no rush for it, but I'm not feeling the typical dread that I used to get when thinking about it. It's like maybe I've accepted it's coming.

I don't really know how to explain this properly. Let's discuss it.

Please?

For those of you who have been thinking about it more than typical, what do you think causes it?

Obviously, the way the world is spiraling has a lot to do with it, but I also wonder if we're being spiritually prepared by divine means.

Her thoughts aren't really that abnormal. And from my experience, so called "professionals" can't do much. My best friend growing up is a psychologist, and to be honest, she's a total fucking moron.

Sometimes, if you have a chemical imbalance, it might be a good idea to get a little help with a prescription drug. I'm all for using modern medicine.

But I myself am not on a single med. I choose to just let my brain do it's thing. I'm a pretty boring person and if I ever went off the rails, then yeah, I'd probably take some meds. But for most people....there are effective ways to deal that don't involve drugs.

I think most people are sensing dread right now, nothing abnormal about that. It's time to put your spiritual armor on and get ready.

yes, unfortunately this timeline is coming to an end for most of us. Some can feel it, based on the poll most can sense something is up.

Re: Not trying to be morbid, but I'm curious if anyone has been feeling their mortality lately.
Yes OP, I had major surgery 2 weeks ago. The week prior, I had a horrible sense of dread and dying. I cried the entire way to the hospital that day. I kissed and said bye to my youngest daughter and my grand daughter and walked into the hospital alone with increasing anxiety.

Post surgery, I woke up in the inpatient room with my two parents (divorced for the past 50 years) there to greet me. They went through a contemptuous divorce when I was 3. They made amends that day and had a wonderful time conversating during my surgery.

I feel like I came full circle that day. It has increased my death anxiety even more because of the events of that day.

I'm ready to die. If God has a plan for me, May His Will Be Done.

However, if I'm of no real significance I'm ready for it to end.

I hate this world, and I hate my life. But, I'll just keep enduring until the end.

Does make you think about how much time is wasted when life is so deceptively short.

Even much of school and college feels like time wasted since so little of it is used in life.
