To be honest you sound like you're having a "midlife crisis". I just can't relate. Maybe I"m just young at heart but how on earth are you only 50 and still not evolving? Having a "set" worldview doesn't entail this kind of boredom. Maybe you need to move onto a new routine, or go travel or something.

I'm 53, I went through a bit of this myself a couple years back. My advise is to change up your life in some way. For me I turned back to an old hobby, in doing so I have have made MANY new friends. My day to day routine completely changed and I'm currently starting a new business venture.

Just break out of the mold you've created, the comfort needs to go. Take on some risk and 'create' your world for yourself.
