What's your earliest traumatic memory? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 83667797 United States 06/15/2022 03:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was 4 or 5 and stepped on a rusty 16 penny nail in the sand box. It went all the way through the top of my foot. One of my older cousins was there and pulled it out. I had to be rushed into town to the doctor for treatment and a tetanus shot. That was excruciating. Quoting: 18328 Jesus Christ...literally. I saw a kid about four step on a big ole catfish head and one of the spines went through his foot. That poor kid was wailing bloody murder and couldnt get it off of him, so I went over and yanked it out, I was about 11 or 12 I guess. I will never forget what that felt like scraping the bone being pulled out. Catfish spines have barbs along their whole length under the skin, the barbs hold them in like the barb on a fish hook Even just stuck in a half and inch they dont want to come out. I could see at least half of that catfish's spine sticking through the top of that kids sneaker. He was given antibiotics, a tetanus shot and painkillers, he was still moaning the next day. |

I was molested like so many. So what? I got over it, got away from my psychotic family, and made a good life. People have risen above much worse. Christ was innocent and look what he willingly suffered. Who am I to complain? IMO the best way to handle that situation is for the adults NOT to make a big ta-do about it and let the kid forget it. If you want to denut the perp though, dont let me stop you. You were right not to think of it as some big dark cloud you could never live down |

Not sure why she thought that was age appropriate but it sure stuck with me. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81512813 My older brother worked maintenance for a funeral home back in the 90's and he was asked to do a suicide cleanup at some rich dude's house in Dallas. It was Friday night and he called and asked if I wanted to earn some quick bucks. Sure, why not? I was not prepared for that. Teeth, brain matter, scalp, bone and blood littered the master bathroom. She said she liked me better so she would only feed me with platinum spoons. Also she put a platinum necklace and bracelet on me. Fucking bitch, I hate her and she's still not dead! (I think) |

When I became tired of self amusement I would shove the books under the door in an effort to remind them that I existed. Often without a response. I still don't being ignored.. :) "People are stupid;they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true" |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83625157 United States 06/15/2022 03:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's weird but at 5 years old remember a old decrepit house in Arizona friend of my mothers older woman in her 70s. Typical old people house being young and curious I opened a door in the hallway and a blue hallway like long with what I would say is a blue ominous light and but no bulbs just blue glow like light stick blue glow. 6 or 7 doors along the wall with a curious exit type sign but no letters just black pink white brown and orange barcode stripes and no door Handel's of any type. Mind you this was in 1985 my mom yelled and I shut the door and ran back to this day I can't figure it out. |

They needed 2 nurses and the Dr to hold me down. Lol, then it was the dentist visit. I bit his finger. Yep, he bled…..but hey, I was vaccinated. I was not allowed back. Traumatized for life. Hate dr’s and dentists. (No offense to those who are, but if you’re gonna hurt me, I’m gonna fight back!) |

When I was in kindergarten or 1st grade I remember getting clobbered and bloodied by a 6th grader on the playground. I didn't know him or even know why it was happening. He knocked me out. I also remember numerous fights between my mom and my drunk dad. I remember him throwing her across the room when she tried to leave. |

Looking back a thousand times maybe I should have never left them. The Ex was a Nut Job that passed as "Normal" willing to throw it all away for the 2nd time, For something greener across the Fence. Nightmare for me. I still suffer over it to this day. I just never knew their feelings over it? Guess I got a hint of it. Sad stuff To each (family) their own. As you know, some divorces are a God send. Whose to say your nutty ex would've done by now. Being a parent is hard and sometimes the lesser of two evils is as good as it gets. Hold your head up, human. Don't like it but It is what it is OP! Jed Eckert: C'mon! We're all going to die, die standing up! Why is it that an economic theorist called an "expert", but a conspiracy expert is called a "theorist"? The only time an aircraft has too much fuel onboard is when it is on fire. . . .
