I traveled to NYC in early April with my daughter's high school band and orchestra to perform at Carnegie Hall. We had no trouble anywhere we went (had to plan ahead a little for her to get in to the Broadway show with her peers, but really absolutely no big deal) but... Under no circumstances was she (or we her parents) allowed to set foot in Carnegie Hall. Their website says they honor religious exemption, but that means you can use your ticket at some other show in the future. Nope. Didn't even buy tickets. So we went to MOMA and Guggenheim, got lobster roles from the soup nazi place, enjoyed some great live music in the subway at Union Station (the acoustics, wow), went to a thrift shop she wanted to visit near NYU, and had a grand old time – while her peers endured covid tests, masks, ID checks, all day long. Yeah, she didn't get to perform there. (She already has, a few years ago in her choir). Screw them. Carnegie Hall was not important enough to us. Basically the Sodom of the region . They all got the jab there to . Free thinkers are about all gone in my opinion . The clots they are pulling out of the dead tell the tale . They will all die from these nano growths in the body . These are entities growing in the body that act like blood clots but they are man made . Wild shit . |

So the thing with sincerely held religious beliefs is it’s not binary. You are at the whim of some person to approve or disapprove. Like at your job, depends on what you do, they find flexibility. I never thought I would live in a country like this. |

I never thought I would live in a country like this. Good point. I do have to laugh a little because the week we returned from our trip, the mayor of NYC and our school's band director both got covid – despite their jabs and boosters. So how is that working out for them? Ridiculous. I had a meeting with the band director last week and asked him if he knows how many fake vax cards went on that trip? (I can name a few.) I then asked if he knew which families were still sore about it because they wouldn't let their kid go, and it caused family strife? Are we a music unit at this school, or are we now divided? He looked down and away in shame, so I mercifully changed the subject. Parents here ranted about the decision to send our kids to "the belly of the beast." NYC, is this what you are now?
