Except it's not, because gas prices are extreme worldwide, the OP is talking gas prices in Germany being $3/gal more than the average in the US. Considering the price per barrel of oil, this is direct evidence EVERY bit is due to gas corporations.

Trump nor Biden have much to do with the matter, but when you look at the few bills voted on lately that WOULD have eased prices at the pump, every last Republican voted no, compared to a yes for all but maybe 1 or 2 Democrats.

The gas prices aren't due to partisan politics. But there sure is 1 party actively denying attempts to help Americans save and inflaming the issue for midterm elections.

I also forgot in my previous longer response. The only reason we were energy independent is because there was a global pandemic and oil was essentially worthless as travel was restricted and businesses shuttered (many permanently). Jobs were working from home, freeing up massive power in the cities from useless office work locations etc.

I can get that from most gas four cylinder engines. The good thing about diesels besides a tad better mileage is that the fuel lasts longer in the tank.

It's happening all over the world. Gas prices have gone sky-high in the UK. Biden has nothing to do with the UK.

Nothing needs to sink in. Biden told everybody exactly what he was going to do with Big Oil and coal when he was campaigning. He said his "New Green" deal mission was to make it very hard for Oil and Coal companies to operate so that the world can transition to green energy, therefore, those same companies are not drilling as much , are not exploring for more oil fields and slowed down in actual pumping. This is what happens when a President promises to shut down your industry and the people voted for it. Just suck it up already and quit your bitching.

When I lived in Canada I got used to this level of fuel expense.

Europe has been paying this for quite awhile, hence all the small cars.
