Looks like heavy sell off of paper silver and gold to try and keep the market from nose diving.

Everything is broken. Unless you are already rich. The market gains over the last 2 years was all fake, debt driven speculation. Main street has been getting crushed all the while.

I am thinking that sound companies with a history of surpluses and dividend payments will continue to earn money and pay dividends in what was a normal environment before 2008. The fairy tale companies, valueated based on fantasy incomes some years into the future, will not survive what is coming. So I am not selling my dividend stocks. In ten years, they will have paid themselves off anyway, and I still got the shares.

2008 = higher gas prices, higher food, higher interest rates, housing at pike prices. Then came job losses, stock market crash, then the housing market crash and people with degrees getting hourly jobs to survive. This was before ACA where medical was still very affordable and renting was still very cheap. As a loophole, millions opted for student loans to survive and some to keep up appearances.

2022 = so far the same pattern as above except everything cost wise is through the roof and as of right now people with degrees are getting hourly jobs again. Majority of people don't have savings, are overextended, and they overspend. A lot got greedy raising prices under "supply issues, "demand issues", and my personal favorite "current market rates".

Colleges are freaking out due to their enrollments being down. Parents are freaking out even more due to their child/childrens 529s tanking HUGE. If this goes down worse then 2008, the sandwich generation is going to be hit the hardest. As their parents lose their life savings and their medical care is priced out of their reach along with trying to support their children and launch them into a currently unaffordable adulthood.

On the plus side, multigenerational housing will make a comeback.
