The should repeal the 17th amendment and let the Senators go back to REPRESENTING the State. The PEOPLE'S representatives are in the House. Public election of Senators is one of the most corrupt processes and has 'foreign money' in every cycle. 'Foreign' in that money from outside the state is used to influence the citizenry of that state and the donor is not a resident of the state. It should be illegal and accepting 'foreign' money should be a criminal offense which makes the pol ineligible to hold office upon conviction.
