Wells Fargo facing federal investigation over alleged fake interviews for women and minorities

...is facing a federal inquiry into whether the major U.S. financial institution violated federal law when it reportedly hosted fake interviews for female and minority candidates as part of an effort to fulfill diversity quotas.

....A civil rights division inside the U.S. Attorney’s Manhattan office is investigating the bank,

....Wells Fargo several years ago instituted a policy in which half of all candidates interviewing for jobs with six-figure salaries need to be "diverse" individuals, a term generally understood to signify women and racial minorities.

Now what you don't realize...
1. Wells-Fargo makes $$$$. So they are a target for the evil corrupt DOJ. Hit them with any trumped up charge you can find...tell them there is going to be an open-ended 'investigation'...and then make them an offer to "settle". You walk away with 20-30M taken from shareholder's profits.

2. This scares the be-jesus out of other companies, so they tow the line with this diversity stakeholder BS.

3. This is about the 4th time in the last decade or so that they have gone after Wells-Fargo.

The last time...it was Philly. Wells Fargo was getting a bunch of Real Estate foreclosures. During the housing crisis...they would look at a property in the suburbs. If we spend 20K fixing it up, we can sell it for a 30K profit.
So the DOJ came in and said...why are you only 'improving' the suburbs. But 20K into a ghetto house. "But...if we do that, the house still can't be sold for a profit. We lose money". But...that was a form of discrimination.


Point: We all blame the companies for all the diversity crap. You need to realize...this is being imposed on them via the threat of using trumped up Civil Rights BS to force them into settlements that cost millions.
