2006 Ford Escape....A/C Clutch On All The Time
Will only disengage when I pull the relay. Swapped relay with the one beside it, same thing.

Clutch stays engaged even with the console off.

These vehicles are tough. I have drove many. Best way to get this to kick itself off is to rev it off the limiter. Hold it for like 5 seconds and release it should go away. If not try again 2 to 3 more times. If it doesnt go away you need a new one.

Is it the hybrid?

The control module for the high voltage battery system can activate the A/C (to cool the batteries) regardless of the setting of the passenger compartment climate controls.

Bad AC compressor is what it sounds like. Same vehicle as the Mazda tribute.

May be worth sourcing a used compressor from a salvage yard.

Try a nee relay first, it's possible that is the problem, cheaper than compressor if your wrong.

Under the passenger side dash there is a control board that goes that controls how the dial works. It's possible that this has gone out and shorted to be always on.

This is a cheap, user replaceable part to try. It's fixed from inside the vehicle. I can't remember the official name of the part. It's like A/C controller or something, you will find it in a blow up diagram.

If it’s blowing cold embrace it, you will burn a little more gas but won’t hurt a thing. Wait until fall to fix it. Take it by auto zone and have them run the codes on it then fix relay or something small.
