I suspect that Elon Musk is falling into a trap set by the current Twitter board. They don't want the takeover and are making the company so unpalatable that Musk will simply take his offer and walk away.
From my point of view, it would be a tragedy if Mr. Musk abandons this purchase and leaves Twitter to continue in their old ways.
