In all seriousness, Republicans really do need to stop talking out of both sides of their mouths, because all it does is come back to haunt them later. When gas prices spiked in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, Republicans were very clear on their opinion that "the President has very little control over the cost of fuel." Now that a Democrat is in office, all of a sudden the President is responsible for every penny of increase in gas prices. Social media is a double-edge sword for politicians. They can reach millions of people with the click of a button. But everything they say is then out there permanently and can be retrieved later to catch them in a lie, flip-flopping, or blatant hypocrisy. Democrats and Republicans both need to stop playing political games and just do what we elect them to do. I don't know about anyone else on GLP, but my elected officials are sure making a mess of things. In 2020 there was a Democrat Party policy that they were going to double the cost of gas and jimmy the tax breaks and supply free electricity to your car if you went electric. They purposefully doubled the price of oil before Russia did anything. You're simply out of touch with the facts, Tuco. |
