I would take that "yellow Cardinal sighting" as a SIGN.

It reminds me of the scene in the movie "KPAX" where
one of the folks in a state hospital spots a "blue bird"

Elizabethtown’s Danielle Cover said she spotted the yellow cardinal Monday night. Auburn University bird expert Geoffrey Hill said an average of three yellow cardinals are sighted in the United States each year.

I saw one once. I was really confused by it's color. Now I understand, it's rare.
