Don McLean and other musicians pulls out of NRA convention
You have to admit it's tacky and disrespectful to even have this NRA event after the recent massacre.

McLean told Fox News Digital his performance would be "disrespectful" and "hurtful" after the recent tragic events of the elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 children and two teachers dead.

"In light of the recent events in Texas, I have decided it would be disrespectful and hurtful for me to perform for the NRA at their convention in Houston this week," McLean said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

McLean was one of several performers set to take the stage at the annual NRA convention. Reps for Lee Greenwood and Larry Gatlin have confirmed to Fox News Digital they still plan to perform. A rep for Danielle Peck confirmed to Billboard she plans to perform as well.

I still don't see the relationship of this tragedy to guns.

I see this as a situation of a really sick young man being overcome by his demons.

A gun is nothing more than a tool. Blame the wielder instead of the gun.

Former President Donald Trump delivered a headline speech in support of gun rights at a National Rifle Association event in Houston on Friday, days after a shooting massacre at a Texas elementary school stoked a fervent push to strengthen firearm laws.

“The existence of evil in our world is not a reason to disarm law-abiding citizens,” Trump said at the NRA convention. “The existence of evil is one of the very best reasons to arm law-abiding citizens.”

I believe crazy 18 year olds shouldn't be allowed to buys assault rifles so they can start killing people. but that's just my opinion.
