Lately I feel so depressed by everything, I get drunk and high almost every night after work to escape reality

I was in oil and gas when everyone around me was getting laid off.

We'd go to Thursday happy hours because if you made it to thurs your job was safe for another week.

But then laid off people would still show up and it got depressing.

I quit all that and took up a positive hobby to keep me from all that.

I survived all the layoffs then quit another year later to pursue my hobby as a business.

Do something positive that puts you in a better place with your time. Nothing will make you feel better than that in stressful times.

OP, i retired one week before covid lockdowns started...ive been mainlining information ever since and cant disconnect.

I use cannabis oil all day every day just to cope with this world and living in a liberal shithole.

This will not make sense to you right now.
But, there is a good reason that you should be sober during these trying times.
