Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What Happened to The Texas Police Training. They Used A Hostage Protocall Instead Of An Active Shooter Protocall. If they could hear gunshots going off when they arrived, then it was an active shooter situation. This means GET IN THERE AND NEUTRALIZE THE SHOOTER. You only wait for more info/contact if it was a hostage situation, gunshots mean NO HOSTAGES. I heard they were waiting for more backup support like a react team. CHILDREN were dying with every shot fired. I would hope every officer on the scene had at the least a 9mm sidearm, this would be sufficient to kill or at least incapacitate the active shooter.
