One of his best movies was "Something wild". This sleeper movie goes under the radar.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77754718

Yeah, that was a great movie. First time I ever saw Ray,
He played a real pr**k in that one.

Had to be a good actor to avoid being typecast.

Goodfellas was one of the best movies ever.

Ray was always intense in his roles.

So many from my generation are now dying. It really brings life to a whole new level.

All I know is....we are literally watching a movie or projection. And we're all 'actors' Our thoughts become things.

It shows what this place is all about. No reason to fuck around with bullshit.

He outlived the 1/300th though, that's for sure.

1/300th of our population were just killed off, and it thinned the herd down into a more more vicious Alpha male/female driven society work.

The Kardashian freak show with the Blink 182 guy is a good example, but the Alphas would say he has the right idea.

I think I enjoy the solitude a little more.

There's no time to waste, and none of it was wasted.

I think one of the best that Mr. Liotta did was the one with the two tools that tried to rob the Mafia backroom card game. They end up bringing Brad Pitt and New York Mickey in (James Gandolfini) to solve it.

There's a lot of people who've gotten in over their heads at that level right about now.

If you haven’t seen Copland, do yourself a favor. Liotta kills it, and is surrounded by an incredible cast.
 Quoting: Larphillips

Killing them softly was a great role for him I thought. Usually plays the hard ass, not the schmuck
 Quoting: Rorschach Watchmen

Could do effective comedy, as well. Heartbreakers was fantastic.
 Quoting: Larphillips

When goodfellas came out my dad and I would watch it at least once a month for that whole year. But my all time favorite movie of his, and also one of my favorites personally is field of dreams. RIP shoeless Joe!
 Quoting: Rorschach Watchmen

Watch Gotti with Armand Assante. Probably the most accurate depiction of the Mafia and Gotti's life and rat Gravano. It's basically Gotti. This coming from Michael Franzese who knew Gotti and most of the made men at the time.

Micheal was a Capo. He's turned his life around and is a christian now. He does greet interviews and doesn't glamorize the life, but interviews people who were involved like Joe Piston, ect

Goodfellas was embellished. Henry was a kind of a mess in real life.

Not as glamorous

He wasn’t aging very well, though.

I'm 72 so I've been here a while,
and I NEVER saw ANYBODY get better looking
as they got older.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83429790

They can stay in shape though. Keep to a good weight. But after 80 you might as well just go for some walks and be happy. Eat and drink what you want. The body is just winding down. There ain’t no sexy anymore. Just be kind.

We have a large amount of old people now. People who partied hard in the 60s, 70s and 80s. It catches up to them. Not to mention the jabs. Dominican Republic doesn’t require them though. But maybe Ray still was.

One night about 30 years ago we met in a place in midtown my best friends family owned called Merlot, long gone and now a PJ Clarke location. Well we were both super drunk and cracking up at something or other and we literally crashed into each other. We both were laughing hysterically and super drunk and I went behind the bar to make us some shots. We had a lot of laughs and got even more shit faced. I was banned from that bar for 5 years for that night. Worth all the free drinks I missed. R.I.P. Ray, a great Italian character actor. Best of his generation. My favorite roll of his is as Stallone’s bad boy wingman in “Copland” awesome stuff.
