Asteroid 1989 JA, estimated to be almost 2 kilometres wide or twice the size of the Burj Khalifa, will graze past our planet at a mere 40,24,182 kilometres. A "mere" 40 MILLION km. Earth's Diameter is 12,700 km. So, this asteroid will "merely" miss us by 3,150 Earth's diameters. It's like saying a sniper missed the head of its target by 945 meters. Or 3,100 feet.
