Unintended consequences of west's war against Russia: EU infighting; Poland now mad at Germany
The German government has rejected criticism by Polish President Andrzej Duda, who accused Berlin of failing to substitute tanks Warsaw had delivered to Ukraine. It might take Germany a long time to produce the heavy equipment Poland seeks to receive from Berlin, government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit told journalists on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Duda told the German news outlet Die Welt that Berlin had failed to replenish the Polish stocks in a timely fashion after Warsaw “weakened” its own military potential by sending “a large number” of tanks to Ukraine. Most Polish tanks are German-made ones and Warsaw expected Berlin to step in, the Polish leader added.

Warsaw reportedly specifically requested the most modern Leopard 2A7 tanks. But Germany itself possesses a relatively small quantity of these heavy equipment pieces, Hebestreit explained, adding that producing additional ones would take time.

The official has also pointed to other similar swap deals with Eastern European nations. The agreements involved Germany sending some modernized Leopard 2 tanks to its partners to substitute the equipment that was headed to Ukraine, he said, adding that Germany never promised to deliver the most modern Leopard 2A7 models.

In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined:

With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world,
And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor.
Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world
And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.

Ukraine energy minister now threatening Hungary:

“Ukraine has a wonderful lever of pressure in its hands – it’s the Druzhba oil pipeline,” Zerkal said, adding that “something could happen” with Hungary’s separate part of the infrastructure.

“And, in my opinion, it would be very appropriate if something happened to it. But, again, it is in the hands of the government and the president to make decisions on political issues, to decide if we really want to talk to [Hungarian President Viktor] Orban in a language that he understands and that he imposes on the EU, or if we are not ready for that yet,” Zerkal stressed.

Re: Unintended consequences of west's war against Russia: EU infighting; Poland now mad at Germany
Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany, Andrey Melnik, posted an image on Thursday implying that German weapons are being sent to Ukraine at a snail’s pace. Melnik has a long record of insulting his host nation.

Melnik posted an image of a snail with a bullet taped to its shell on his official Twitter account, along with the text “German weapons for Ukraine already on their way.” Claiming to have been sent the picture by a member of the government in Kiev, he added a dismissive “Pff. Russia must not win the war.”

With Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz insisting that his country should strive to “avoid a direct military confrontation” with Russia, Melnik told Bild that he thinks the German government “is very good at justifying and giving absurd excuses for its inaction."

Melnik has veered into even more undiplomatic language too. After Kiev told German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in April that he was “not wanted” in the city due to his past warm relations with Moscow, Scholz called it “unacceptable to tell the president of a country that provides so much military assistance, so much financial assistance…that he can't come.”

Rather than defuse the tension, Melnik declared that Scholz was acting like an “offended liverwurst.” While the chancellor said that he would not “overreact” to the remark, a number of German MPs complained, with Left Party deputy leader Sevim Dagdelen demanding the expulsion of Melnik. Dagdelen called the ambassador a “Nazi sympathizer” over his pilgrimage to the grave of Ukrainian war criminal and Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera.

Ukraine acts like it owns all of Europe, giving orders and berating anyone who doesn't hand over what they demand. It's a gangster state and acts like one.

Hungary already has deals with Russia. They get nearly all of their NG and something like 60% of their oil from Russia. Poland is furious with Hungary for refusing to go along with sanctions but Orban has been firm that he will not do anything to harm Hungary's interests.

I don't know if Poland intends to try taking back old territory. It would cause a shitstorm if they did. Russia probably wouldn't care but it would be a big deal within the EU.

Wow, look at this shit! The snakes (UK) are really doing some backhanded maneuvers which directly undercut the EU - all in order to build an alliance against Russia, whom the Brits have historically hated:

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reportedly suggested that Ukraine join a new alliance, which London is supposedly seeking to establish as a structure parallel to the EU.

Italy’s Corriere della Sera newspaper reported Thursday that there was a growing rift between Kiev and the EU over the bloc’s response to Russia’s military offensive in Ukraine.

The outlet’s assessment of Kiev-Brussels relations apparently stems from frequent criticisms leveled by senior Ukrainian officials at some EU member states over the amount and extent of military support they are willing to provide to Kiev, as well as the bloc’s inability to impose an embargo on Russian energy imports so far.

According to Corriere della Sera, citing people familiar with the talks, London has been actively working to set up a ‘European Commonwealth’ for more than a month now. Johnson has reportedly been trying to launch an alternative to the EU that would include the UK, Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and possibly Turkey. The new alliance would reportedly welcome nations which value their sovereignty, are proponents of economic liberalism, and are determined to repel the “military threat from Moscow.”

Expect this to blow up big. The money that the EU promised to Poland for Ukie refugees is from OTHER funds, already allocated to Poland (COVID relief, etc), that were not yet paid. It's a shell game, lol. So, IOW, no money for Poland! Further, the EU is saying some issues still need to be resolved before they'll even get this already allocated money and you know what that means. It means the EU strong arming Poland on the western Satanic agenda (commie judges and LGBTQP), which Poland has continually resisted. Poland has been providing everything for free to the refugees but that's gonna stop and they're going to have absorb a million or more Polish workers into their economy, driving down wages for Poles. Other EU countries have already said they'll be cutting off welfare benefits and no more free housing in resort hotels. Mass evictions have begun.

Poland reportedly hasn’t received any of the money promised from the EU to help cope with the costs of hosting more than 3 million Ukrainian refugees, and even the funds that have been pledged are paltry relative to the massive influx of people fleeing the former Soviet republic.

None of the €144.6 million that the European Commission offered to help Warsaw get through the Russia-Ukraine crisis has been transferred, Polish Deputy Interior Minister Pawel Szefernaker told the Polish Press Agency in an article posted on Saturday.

The EU plans to tap unused funding to Poland from past budgets and from a Covid-19 recovery program to pay for the refugee assistance, the Polish Press Agency said.

“The measures referred to by the European Commission are not additional measures,” said Szefernaker, the deputy interior minister. “These are resources shifted from various other funds that were already in the budget of the European Union.” He added that shifting such funding will force Poland to abandon other projects and will be far from sufficient to pay for the refugee influx.

You'd think the Europeans would wise up about US/UK machinations and - *title of this thread* - the unintended consequences but nope. Now they're gonna be at each other's throats as they face depleted defense stocks and how to support a few million Ukrainians.
