Going to superglue the caps on to some 3litre water bottles full of air.. then wrap in some bright colored duct tape and throw some para cord on those birches. Diy buoy that I can just shove up in there .. Probably just make 2 for the bow and2 for the stern |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80104801 Canada 05/25/2022 09:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wear a life jacket or stay out of a kayak. I flipped mine in April of last year and the water was so cold that I almost blanked out. The only thing that saved me was the fact that I don't go on any body of water without my life jacked on... not even on the ice with there's 2 -3 feet of it below be. I teach my kid the same thing but she's a young adult and of course, she knows more than me on subject. If she flips are kayak and snags a part of her clothing on under water branches or the wind blows her Kayak away from her so she is left stranded out in the lake, well, God forbid because she will have discovered too late that her old man was right. |

Safer if you have lighting so other boats can see you in the dark. Stay close to land and don't go out if the winds are blowing or the water is cold. |

Vertical PVC pipes that fit into the scupper holes and are mounted to a horizontal PVC pipe that has wheels and an axle connected to it. (Think of it like a "U" shape). When going from car to water, the wheels are under the kayak then when out on the water, flip it and insert vertical pipes in scupper holes so wheels are facing up for storage. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12762317 Oh wow.... awesome.. been working on some type of portable wheel apparatus that design sounds pretty sweet |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 10511121 United States 05/25/2022 10:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | no idea why they even make 9 foot kayaks, a 13 foot kayak doesn't flip or spin, it tracks 1000 times better and is 1000 times more stable. I can stand up in my 13 foot kayak easy, as i coast onto shore, 9 foot kayak i can barely paddle the thing it's so tippy just add a blade 2 feet in front, 2 feet in back |

Quoting: Plato seven of 9 Thread for us nautical folk, and the seamen OK so I have a cheap kayak I've had for a few years and want to add some buoyancy to the stern, also as a security feature in case of overturn scenario. Never flipped it but I plan to do some drinking on the lake this summer. My kayak doesn't have any baffles it's sit-in, 8.6 footer wideboi. What would you guys recommend I was thinking Great Stuff, they make a version specifically for waterproof applications. Just want to put a good amount in the bow and stern just about 1 foot in each side. Might toss in a few water bottles filed with air and sealed real tight just to add more buoyancy Is there anything cheap in a can that I should use aside from regular expanding foam? Cup holder. |
