The op here seriously lacks lateral thinking capacity if they can't see how people would support, in general, the blocking of all international food shipments entirely as its own self contained goal.

Ignore the whole surrounding context: That bit alone. The decision to stop all international food shipments, yes or no. Find a reason for yes. Its trivial, there are dozens. Plenty of which can very much be seen as morally good for a relatively standard view of morality.

However, more fun is the view of the evils of charity. Take this very same food crisis for example. Africa, continent of charity, cannot feed its population. No where close. It barely even has an agriculture industry and it can't develop one because no local agriculture industry can even begin to compete with the prices being offered by the rest of the world: completely free charity dumps of all their excess food. So the industry never develops and the whole continent becomes dependent on charity.

You know what happens when someone we don't like tries to go all rogue warlord in Africa? Simple, we stop giving them food charity. Their population starts starving and they face a civil crisis more impactful than a sizable nuclear salvo. Except it isn't some sort of abhorrent atrocity because we didn't do anything, did we? We just stopped giving them free food. Its not our fault they couldn't feed themselves.... oh shit, right, yeah, it is.

Similarly we can set up schooling over there. Provide a basic little bit of fundamental education to the locals. And we even set up a program where if a teacher in these programs identifies a particularly talented and gifted student we can have that student be brought to our country and given a full proper education for free. And then given a productive and impactful job... in our country. Shame they don't have any smart people over there to improve their impoverished state.

The truth of the matter is that the whole damned ball of moral yarn is tangled beyond comprehension. There is no good that has not been corrupted, no evil that doesn't have virtue at its helm. Corruption seeps into all things given time and increasingly the mood of the people is that the time is up. The corruption needs to be reset and the only way to do that is to break everything that is large enough to become corruptible.

So yes, Russia is the good guy doing us all a favor by crashing the world's economy. Exactly. No "and for what?", Crashing the world's economy is itself a desirable goal. Locations that are dependent on food imports going hungry is itself a desirable goal. Locations dependent on energy imports going without power is itself a desirable goal.
