Moon is in different places
A couple of weeks ago I woke up to the moon light shining in my bedroom window. It was further north than the sun will set. Today it’s much higher in the sky and much further south. Has anyone else noticed the moon out of place on random days? Or maybe I’m just not that observant.

So is the sun slightly. Most don't notice, I work graveyard and have worked it for two decades...so I notice the slight difference.

My best guess?

To and fro, like a drunkard it starts to wobble.

I’ve thought the sun also. Bad on me for not paying more attention through the years. I’m going to start mapping it at set times for awhile.

Oh no, oh no, not this s**t again!

The Moon orbits the Earth at an angle of about five degrees relative to the plane of the ecliptic, which makes it harder to understand at first glance.

Just go and study the Moon's orbit and be done with this!

It has a very complicated and irregular orbit. I was taught this 20 years ago in college.

I think a lot of people don't realize that the moon's orbit isn't like the sun's.

I’m in Michigan and don’t get to see the Sky that much. But I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen the moon that far north.

Re: Moon is in different places
Normally, I would laugh at this kind of post (which I've seen a lot over the years) but the moon was absolutely much further south this morning for me. It was immediately noticeable as soon as I stepped outside. It was a significant difference in position.

The Moon rises and sets about 50 minutes later each day as it progresses through its phases. Always has. It also goes from its furthest North to its furthest South AND BACK every month. So how are you sure it was out of place when it should be in a different place every day?

if you lived in the south this would be more obvious

the sun and moon change angle depending on the seasons and the tilt of the earth

The moon is not a natural rock.

Its an alien ship/space station.

Underneath is metal frame, that's covered with about 1 mile deep of dirt.

Yes, I’ve been noticing the irregularities for years. I think there are threads in here on the subject.
