What about the many millions of people who have died in the Lord in the nearly 2,000 years

before the time of the Great Tribulation?

3. Dead in Christ are resurrected first. 1 Thessalonians 4

4. 'Alive and remain' folks meet Christ in the iar. 1 Thessalonians 4

The Last Trump that you are referring to in 1 Corinthians 15:52 and the Trump of God referred to in 1Th 4:16 are two separate events.

1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Paul tells the Thessalonian believers that the coming of the Lord and the rapture of the Church will NOT happen until after the son of destruction (i.e. Antichrist) is revealed when he takes his seat in the temple and demands the world’s worship. In other words, the rapture of the church will NOT happen until AFTER the beginning of the Great Tribulation.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be discovered. II Peter 3:10 Note the “thief” comes near the time of the final wrath – not seven years prior

(The first resurrection includes saints beheaded by the Anti-Christ and therefore – no resurrection/rapture can happen UNTIL this FIRST resurrection. The FIRST resurrection happens at the end of the Tribulation)

1 Thessalonians 4 is similar to what Paul says in two other passages, 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 and Philippians 3:20-21. At Jesus’ “coming” or “appearing” those who are still alive will be “changed” or “transformed” so that their mortal bodies will become incorruptible, deathless.

Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. (Revelation 3:10)

Humph. Maybe it's just me, but 1... I take the last trump to mean that there are no more after it. 2...The trump referred to in 1Th 4:16 obviously must take place before the last trump.

The day of the Lord is quite separate from the Rapture. Amo 5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light

It seems to me that the tribulation would be the reward for the wicked.. at the end of the world the wicked will be sent to Hell but Christians will escape it and be with Christ.

Yes, if you want to find when the rapture is, find the resurrection and you'll know the rapture is immediately or soon afterward. If the resurrection is before the tribulation, how do the righteous who die during the tribulation get resurrected? There are only 2 resurrections according to 1 Cor 15:

1. Christ the first fruits

2. Those that are Christs at his coming (Greek: parousia - bodily physical arrival)

The pre-tribbers say that Jesus appearance in the clouds before the tribulation is not the second coming, but 1 Cor 15 says differently. Very much a conflict there.

Paul is clear that "our gathering to Him" takes place AFTER the Day of the Lord. Just READ what he said here! He provides the ORDER of events!
