Next thing I know the dog had my head in it's mouth on the front porch as I was trying to run inside. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 10196322 United States 05/15/2022 07:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I tried to ride a German Shepard like a horse. The dog grabbed me by the back of my neck, and dragged me down the sidewalk, until me mom came out with a broom, and the dog released his grip. The dog ran off, but the bite had broke my skin. No one around the neighborhood knew who owned the dog,so the local news put out a description of the dog. They feared the dog had not received it's vaccines, and I would have to endure the agonizing rabies shots. One day before I was scheduled to get the rabies shots, we found the dog sitting on the front porch of an old house across the street. The poor dog had not received it's rabies vaxx, so they had to euthanize him. Turned out he did not have rabies, and I was spared. I was about 6 years old at the time, but remember it like it was yesterday. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82571668 I was delivering newspapers and I had this bag with a reflector on the strap and he attacked the strap just out of the blue... So he bit the bag and NOT you... INSTANT THREAD FAIL No he bit my arm at the same time as the strap... I grew up with St. Bernards... very mild dogs but you can get a weird one for sure. This was a photo shoot I did for my mom this past spring. https://imgur.com/a/qhYwxOD INFJ/Conservative Artist |

One night he was looking out their apartment window and saw another male cat. For some reason they both flipped out, howling and hissing. My dad, who was on dialysis, he’s since passed, tried to get their cat to calm down and get off the window sill. Big mistake. The cat totally flipped out and clawed my dads arm where his catheter was just below the skin. Then he grabbed on and did more damage, to where it nearly tore my dads catheter out of his arm. He couldn’t get the cat off. Finally my mom was able to pry him off My dad had to have a couple surgeries to get it fixed I hate cats. Don’t trust them. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 47875755 United States 05/16/2022 07:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am a veterinarian. I've been doing this for 30 years now. A few years ago I was attacked by a mastiff. It was a Neapolitan Mastiff and weighed about 150 lb, nearly as much as me. It happened in the parking lot outside my office, I was just walking in, had not spoken to the owner nor made eye contact with the dog even The dog broke a giant pinch collar and ran across the parking lot grabbed my leg and shook me like a rag doll. It bit me five times up and down my leg. I managed to hold my feet and I carry a metal contractor clipboard which I kept between the dogs face and my throat at all times. All I could think was that if I fell or tried to run it would take me down and rip my throat out because that's the way it was grabbing and shaking my whole leg. I probably should have had stitches, but being the old time veterinarian I am and self-employed with crappy health insurance, I cleaned it out really well and took some antibiotics and it healed up fine on its own except for the fact that the lymph drainage in my leg is ruined forever so it swells frequently. It's the worst I've been bitten in my career. I've been nipped a few times but nothing serious outide of that. The vast majority of my patients, even the typically grouchy ones like me or at least tolerate me. For a few weeks maybe even months after that, I struggled with my patients who had big heads and made serious eye contact. I hate it when I feel that little frission of fear because I know the dogs can sense it and when you feel scared, they feel scared too or take advantage and you're much more likely to get bitten. But I'm back in the swing of things now. |
