were the ancient Sardinians the sea people?
The ancient civilization location in the article began approximately around the time of the Late Bronze Age Collapse and prospered for the following few centuries when most Mediterranean civilizations went through a "Dark Ages" period. Around this time Ancient Egyptian texts mention the various "Sea Peoples" attacking Egypt, of which the Sherden (or Shardana ) were one of the most prominent ethnic groups. The 19th century scholar Emmanuel de Rougé was the first to connect the Sherden to a Sardinian homeland, and, more recently, Giovanni Ugas has connected them specifically to the Sardinian Nuragic civilization mentioned in the article.
