Melting pennies down for copper and selling it.
Can it be done? Going to watch some how-to videos this weekend.

BTW I don’t care if it’s illegal. Information purposes only and it’s my money anyways.

Better off finding scrap computer parts like old motherboards, graphics cards and heating. Gold and copper.

Look at the dates of the pennies first. Pennies before 1982 had 95% copper. Pennies after that are have very little or no copper in them. We've been scammed over the years where even coins are as worthless as our fiat paper currency. No precious metal content in our coins, just total worthless junk now.

Yes, even including lawyers fees and time served, I think its still easier and more lucrative to steal pipes and electric wires out of homes.

you are going to spend more money on fuel and time doing that than any of the process is even worth.

people buy junk silver for the 90% silver content. the coins are perfectly fine, no need to melt.

Not really worth it for money per se, but for forging unbeatable weapons to slay Longwalkers and Reptilians it is a Godsend

the funny part about that, is that even our crappy nickels had greshams law kick in a month or two ago. the melt value of the nickel in the nickel was higher than the face value.

pretty pathetic honestly. if you bought 10$ worth of nickels at a bank you'd have $11 or whatever in melt value.

You'll need a furnace and a crucible and about 5 worth of fuel to melt 1 dollars worth of pennies

You also need a customer. Junkyards are very leery of people who want to sell them shit, and they video the transaction. They also require a copy of your driver's license.
