Politics is similar to the entertainment industry in that a person must sell their soul, join the cult, and do ANYTHING they are told to do to succeed. If they play the game, they do succeed (at least temporarily). As far as their fate in the next realm, prolly not so successful..

Let me put it very simply.

It's the biggest turds that float to the top.

Abolish political parties.

Party politics is the problem. If there were no political parties there would be no politicians. Political parties (Democrat, Republican, etc.) operate like organized crime cartels, party bosses, gangs and mobs.

Every candidate should run for office on the content of their individual character. It could be made less costly for individuals if they were able to advertise their campaigns at no cost. TV and Radio networks should be mandated to air campaign ads free of cost.

Even term limits would no longer be necessary. Eligible voters should be free to vote for anyone they want in leadership for as long as the want, and they should be able to remove them from office anytime if a plurality of voters call for it.

Voter "eligibility" is also key... People should be required to be land owners and possibly have other requirements to earn eligibility to vote. Politicians are able to buy the votes from the dregs of society with "free" stuff. People should have some skin in the game before they can vote for leadership in the game.

Unfortunately that gets too complicated.

Government is the problem period, this system is fiction. We are all role-playing on a fake ass monopoly board living out someone else's ideas. You think there are boarders, Fake lines! You think the people giving titles of police, judges, politicians are any different than you? They are ACTING A ROLE. We stupidly give authority to them and play this game.

I would say all taxpayers (present and past) should be eligible voters. If we are paying them, we should be able to vote for them. Also they should be American citizens by birthright.

Taxes are another big part of this whole problem. We didn't have income taxes until the early part of the 20th century. Sales taxes are another huge crime against society. If the only taxpayers were also voters, I think things would level out. So in a roundabout way, I do agree with your comment. Where we might disagree on the basic premises of taxes in general.
