The 57-year-old patient who survived two months after undergoing a landmark pig heart transplant died of a pig virus, his transplant surgeon announced last month.

Bennett’s transplant surgeon, Bartley Griffith, revealed that the pig’s heart was infected with a porcine virus known as porcine cytomegalovirus,

reminds me of the theory that viruses come from within the body, not outside. The heart probably created the virus. There is a rabbit hole opening up right before us, a gigantic fucking rabbit hole

We accidentally replaced you're heart with an infected Pig heart, you have about 2 months to live.

That's the purpose of the genetic modifications. The pig was genetically modifiied to be a match. A virus is apparently what killed the man.

I don't think transplanting the pig embryo into a human mother would make any difference to its genetic code; the patients mother or otherwise. And what woman would want to give birth to a pig?
