You people realise that Lithium Batteries are just a stop gap for EVs and combustion engines are never going away?

I see all your questions.. "what happens to the grid when it's over capacity?" , "how will there be enough charging stations?" , "what you going to do when you need a new battery?" etc etc

well the thing you all don't seem to get is that lithium batteries are just a temporary patch until the right technology is mass produced.

Of course, cars of the future will be electric motor, there is no doubt about it. In every aspect they make combustion engines look less favourable, from design to use to repair.

will combustions engines go extinct? never. there will always be a use of some kind for the crude oil products and there will always be a need to use up the rest of the crude oil spectrum.

It's not like they're going to extract the paraffin , naphtha and a few others and shove the rest of the constituents back into a hole in the ground.

Think about it.

Take a look at what is made from crude oils. all the way from the heaviest product in it, to the lightest product in it. from solids to gases. There is no way that all those products have suitable alternatives and they all come together in the form of crude oil, there is no obtaining naphtha without obtaining kerosene too. it would either need disposing of or put into indefinite storage.

So think now, do you really believe the entire petrochemical industry is going to stop producing all its products ? Do you honestly believe we can produce any of the things we rely on today without plastic?
