I didn't think it was disturbing either, but I think you misunderstand the warfare they're talking about.

Warfare has always been real and like your example of the 22yo with ptsd. Imagined or indirect trauma can be a useful tool in war.

I think you dont know what I am talking about.

You're right.

It seems like you were talking about physical conflicts where people die and trillions are wasted protecting poppy fields.

I was talking about demoralizing enemy combatants by using propaganda into non combative protesting before actual conflict.

I'm willing to admit I was wrong due to inexperience, if you're willing to admit we're just looking at things differently.

What about an agreement to disagree?

But you are talking about two kinds of war. The war which causes people to die and trillions to be wasted doesn't involve any actual loss to that mindset. These are private interests being protected and making money, not the US economy. The second kind of war is largely conducted against people who are opposed to the first, both foreign and domestic.

Now if I object to my people dying and the coffers of my country being drained to benefit a select few who have highly questionable loyalty to the country doing their fighting, this makes me an 'enemy' of my country. So both versions mean our country/all countries are only the vehicle for special interests and our military are in every case a mercenary class. In that case, trauma is definitely useful. Rapists and slave-dealers think the same thing.

I thought that AC 8286 was talking about physical war, whereas I assumed with Twatter blowing up we were in a digital war. One it seemed he didn't think was real war because nobody died. That was the underlining theme of our disagreement.

It's ok for people to disagree because opinions are like bums, everyone's got one and this is the internet.

Militaries are useful and so are the people that are in them.

However it takes a very naive or immoral person to question whether those militaries should be used in foreign policy.

Either the naive person believes the military shouldn't be used to aggrandize wealthy people like the Sacklers who bribe politicians for those lucrative Government contracts.

Or the immoral person knows it and profits from it by owning corporate stock who would do well in the event of conflict.
