As a steak and beer connoisseur, the reality is Aussie steak (and beer) is light years ahead in terms of quality, taste, and health (i.e less fuckery with cattle raising, processing etc), followed by New Zealand.

US meats, while not bad, probably rank around 5 to 6. Commendable, but far, far removed from Aus perfection.

Lol not just in America. South Africa has a great bbq tradition, we call it braai. Steaks, lamb chops, marinaded chicken breasts, boerewors (the literal translation is farmers' sausage, spicy ground meat in a casing) and we put on the bbq also these galoshous delicious cheese onion and tomato sandwiches called braai broodjies. SA is the world's champ when it comes to bbq. With that we have potato salad and any other salad you like too. The alcoholic drinks mostly would be beer, wine or brandy mixed with cola.
