Yup, store-bought ground beef needs to reach 165°F in the center of mass, or even a wee bit hotter. E.Coli and salmonella are nothing to take chances on.

Why won't these facilities irradiate their product after packaging? The money they lose in recalls could pay for the bulk irradiation equipment.

Ozone fumigation & 222nm UV light would also greatly reduce disease pathogens in the processing and storage environments.

When buying mass produced factory processed cheap meat, learn to like well cooked at decently high temperature.
