There is always a huge difference between people moving into a a new community and big time commercial interests/builders taking over and changing it into their vision of another money maker. Some people go to smaller places for the peace and beauty. Once they destroy it, it is gone. Europe seems to have lots of places that maintain charm while allowing for growth.
