Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81899863 Welcome to the Free State of Florida, Rhode Islanders! Nah, too many people are being forced into an area that is surrounded by 3 sides of water and sits on limestone. Something isn't right about Florida. What happens when a new Governor is elected who will overturn all that DeSantis did? You can't just continue to flee your states. At some point, you going to have to stand up and fight or die like cowards! |

I've often wondered about that. Politicians constantly propose insane bills that are, on their face, repugnant to the Constitution. How do they keep getting away with it? |

Quoting: thadividedsky "PROVIDENCE — Rhode Islanders who don’t get the COVID-19 vaccine would face $50 monthly fines and have to pay twice what they’d otherwise owe in personal income taxes, under a state Senate bill. Senator Samuel W. Bell, a progressive Providence Democrat, proposed the legislation, which has drawn sharp and, in some cases, vulgar criticism on Twitter. And it has prompted Senator Jessica de la Cruz, a North Smithfield Republican, to organize an email campaign opposing the measure. “The reason I introduced the bill is we have a crisis with the pandemic,” Bell said Wednesday. “Thousands of Rhode Islander have died. I’ve had really painful calls from constituents who can’t go to the store because they’re immuno-compromised, who have lost loved ones to this pandemic, who are really ill and not fully recovered, suffering long-term effects.” [link to www.bostonglobe.com (secure)] So Senator Samuel W Bell endorses Tuskegee & the forced non consensual medical experimentation without fully informed consent free of liability on black people & no matter how grievously harmed they may become from it they have no recourse? Racist! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82688506 Our system is working as intended. Sounds like some people prefer an autocracy instead of a democracy. Wrong!!! It’s unconstitutional to make laws that affect people due to health issues that the state has no say. I've often wondered about that. Politicians constantly propose insane bills that are, on their face, repugnant to the Constitution. How do they keep getting away with it? Who is going to put them on trial for treason? A corrupt judge? A crooked prosecutor? LOL There should be impartial panels of non-politician Constitutional scholars who vet all proposed bills before they are submitted to the political process. The panel's judgment should be final, with no appeal. If a proposed bill is deemed un-Constitutional, it gets immediately flushed down the shitter, and the proposer is fined at least $50K for being a traitor. If a traitor submits three un-Constitutional bill proposals, he/she goes to trial on charges of sedition and treason. Jus' sayin' |
