Russia today carried out a test launch with the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, as confirmed on Wednesday by the Russian authorities.

The missile, which was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, reached its destination 6,000 kilometers away at the Kurá polygon on the Kamchatka Peninsula, washed by the Pacific Ocean

The ICBM itself is just a delivery system. The real threat are the hypersonic weapons contained in the nose.

If the ICBM launches them, there is no 0 chance to stop them. They WILL strike their targets.

The only way America could stay secure in this scenario is to strike the ICBM from space before it releases it's payload.
