Yeah, i read that since I changed the cap but having said that I don't think its the cap. The filler top is pretty decent still. Only reason I replaced the cap is because the original one wouldn't click any more. Chill out, its just a Lancashire Rose |

(OP) User ID: 77978222 Canada 04/14/2022 05:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | P0304 means the ECU has found cylinder #4 is not firing properly. The other one I dunno Quoting: 762hillboy P0304 is misfire in cylinder 4...I've since replaced all 4 plugs but not the coils or coil pack. Couldn't swap coils to see if it was the coil as they are all different lengths. P0441 is Evap Control System Incorrect Purge flow...I replaced the Purge Control Solenoid valve earlier today (which pretty much all Hyundai techs who assist on the net say will fix that issue). The part that I removed was indeed defective...wouldn't hold any vacuum at all when I tested it. Last Edited by Swearbox on 04/14/2022 05:58 PM Chill out, its just a Lancashire Rose |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82844815 If the engine has a coil on each spark plug, switch coil 4 to plug 1 see if the code changes. Misfire could be oil leaking from can cover into spark plug well. Can't swap the coils as they are all different lengths....plus I don't have an OBD2 code scanner. Last Edited by Swearbox on 04/14/2022 06:01 PM Chill out, its just a Lancashire Rose |

I'd at least take out spark plug 4 see if its fouled, melted, or cracked. Get a spray bottle of water, at night spray the number 4 plug wire. If there are sparks it needs replaced. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 5184682 United States 04/14/2022 06:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a check engine issue that I don't fully understand. I just need to pick someone's brains a little. The codes thrown are P0441 and P0304. I've done some work to address this and the light went out but is back again. Quoting: Swearbox Edited to add: P0304 - I swapped out all 4 plugs for new ones (same make/model). I couldn't troubleshoot the coils by swapping them around because they're all different lengths. P0441 - I replaced the Evap Purge Solenoid Valve with a brand new unit. Yes, it came from Amazon and I'm taking a chance but the one I picked seemed to hold up well based on reviews. After the work was done I disconnected the battery terminals and shorted them together to drain the ECU of its memory (so i thought). I had the leads shorted for around 15 mins. I hooked up the battery and started the car and left it to idle for around ten minutes prior to driving it around for maybe half an hour. Check Engine light was out the whole time. I parked the car for maybe an hour then had to go out again...Check Engine light was back again. I took the car to NAPA to get them to scan it and the same two codes were thrown. I asked the guy to erase the codes and he said he couldn't. I think they might be permanent codes. My problem is that I don't know how long a permanent code will take to be removed (by the ECU) once the ECU decides that the issue that caused the code is fixed.
