Finland wouldn't have joined NATO in many years, decades even, if Russia wouldn't have invaded Ukraine. The polls in Finland were always against joining NATO before the invasion.

Regular people can't see any justification or reason for the invasion of Ukraine and so they think if it can happen in Ukraine, it can happen in Finland without any reason or justification.

I would've liked Finland to stay neutral, but what can you do. And threatening really doesn't make people come to your side, or try to see your pov either.

And although I understand the geopolitical reasoning behind the invasion, I still don't understand the logic of the invasion. If I would've been in charge I would've tried to sway the neighboring countries to my side with a carrot instead of a stick.

I mean this result had to be foreseeable to them, or they really miscalculated how fast the invasion would get Ukraine to surrender.
