Gov. DeSantis signed the No Patient Left Alone Act into law to protect the right of Floridians to have companionship when hospitalized.

I LOVE how all you all are falling for the DeSantis story. Why did he make that bill stop at grade 3? Is it appropriate to discuss private sex lives with kids in grade 4? Why did he sign the "don't talk mean about the small somberos" bill? Why is he pretending FL textbooks can't have crt and 1619 stuff in them when I have on my laptop right this moment a "social studies" book with exactly that crap in it?

What difference would it make if the brainless masses voted him as president. They didn't vote for his handlers, they didn't vote for the swamp scum that he'll appoint into his cabinet just like Trump did.

I do not live in Florida, but I agree with this decision to not let patients die alone in a hospital. It is devastating for the patient and their loved ones.

I showed up at the hospital and when they said nothing more could be done, I said "fine, I've got my lawyer on the phone, go get the hospitals Risk Mgr, OR, get your act together and start treating her.

She was fine within a few days and released to live many more years.

Yes. Exactly. Especially now a days. We will never know what happened in the hospital because we were not allowed to be there beside our loved ones.

Well, he can only sign what the legislature gets to his desk and only bills with majority support will make it that far so there's that.

I'm sure it was a compromise to get what they got. They can continue to work on more later.

First time I wrote a Gov who actually did what I requested. This

I delayed a heart procedure that required an overnight stay until I could have family member in room.

The action of denying any family member to be with the patient was evil and led to many, many, many deaths.

All who supported have death and blood on their hands.

Guy is killing it here in Florida. I personally hope he doesn't run for president because I will loose him as a gov. One of the only people in government actually doing things the people want. I hope he stays in florida.

That's what I thought of, too. If the patient is too sick to be aware, they need someone on their side to talk to the doctors & help make decisions.

I know many people died alone because of Covid rules. It is so sad.

I'm in Florida. I don't need a bill to tell me I can't be with my family.

They tried that shit when I had to have 2 inguinal mesh implants for my hernia in May of 2020.

They so tried to swab my nose with an Abbot Labs PCR test that I was hearing bad shit about with ethylene oxide.

I went to a med supply store and purchased my own long cotton swabs and despite 2 nurses protesting, they used my swab.

I also had my wife at my bedside the whole surgery despite them trying to say no visitors.

My surgeon and my Anesthesiologist were both very hip to the covid bullshit and they really had my back and helped my wife say the magic legal words to back off those damn hospitalists they have deciding who lives and who dies.

My father died alone in December of 2020 bc of covid restrictions. It’s the part of losing him I can’t get over. We had a great relationship and it’s my only regret, but it’s a big one.

So when a hospital wants to off em they have someone as witness or able to stop it

He has minimized the damage this Covid BS has caused. As a Floridian it is easy to forget that this is going on most days. He is doing a good job, and my mother had to be in the hospital alone during Covid too- luckily she lived, but she was traumatized by it. She has to go to the hospital on average 2 times a year due to sepsis with recurring UTIs, and I am glad he has protected my right to go visit her.

So you're saying it doesn't make a difference? Then could you explain how it is that Desantis signed this bill into law, but no one else has? It looks like an important difference to families all across the state.
