1) A President can serve for 10years if they, as Vice President, take over the back 2 years in the admin they started in. I just laid all this out on page 1 with LBJ and Kennedy.

2) The constitution says they can't be "elected' President for more than 2 terms. It doesn't say anything about being appointed VP and then made President later.

Actually you are right on the LBJ. But if the VP takes over with two years plus one day left in the presidency, then that president can only run for one term. If it’s under two years, then the president can run for two terms.

So we are both correct in a way.

I heard that a US president could infact serve more than an 8 year term in the event the current President and vice President were impeached and then the speaker of the House becomes president and can serve out the remainder of that term.

Like I said on page 1... logic will tell you Biden doesn't get removed until after midterms so Kamala can be Potus for 10years.

However the VP is selected by the House. If they wait until after midterms they could end up with a Republican VP.

LBJ had no VP in the 2years between Kennedy's death and his inauguration in 1965.

I was convinced Biden wouldnt go anywhere until post midterms... now i'm starting to wonder if they have to do this now to get their person in for VP.

If they go this route you can also guarantee Kamala won't run for re-election because whoever they pick as VP will be looked at as the real President and the next nominee.
