Hey GLP: Is there an informal blog or database law firms use to blacklist 'bad clients' ?
Lawyers are not supposed to blacklist clients or talk about a client with other lawyers (attorney client privilege) but we're hearing there are informal databases, lists or blogs that attorneys are able to check before taking on a new client.

Had a problem a few years ago with a lawyer who was ripping us off. He was padding his bills and there were some other questionable acts. Ultimately had to get a new lawyer. It was not an amicable parting. The matter being handled did not involve any public record filings or disclosures.

2 years later:
Dealing with another lawyer on an entirely separate matter who's located in another county and he said something that suggested he was aware of what happened with this other lawyer. There's NO WAY these lawyers know each other or have crossed paths. He did a background check on some database.

Does Lexus or some other system have such a database?
Seems like a 'client check' service or database available for use by law firms.

Any guidance on this would be appreciated.
